BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH
Eric A. Theisen, Principal Engineer, Team Lead, at the EERC, works in close collaboration with EERC subject matter experts, principal investigators, and leadership to prepare and lead proposals; develop and pursue new business opportunities; and lead and manage activities, tasks, and projects in energy production, CO2 capture, CO2 geologic storage, and natural resource systems related to energy. Previously, Theisen was Director of Research and Development at Metglas, Inc. Theisen holds a Ph.D. degree in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering from Cornell University, an M.B.A. degree from the Darla Moore School of Business at the University of South Carolina, and a B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Florida.
Theisen’s principal areas of interest and expertise include scanning electron microscopy, energy-dispersive x-ray analysis and x-ray diffraction analysis, metallurgical sample preparation, microstructure analysis and mechanical testing, and magnetic annealing and measurement methods. Theisen is a member of several professional organizations, including the Minerals, Metals & Materials Society; ASM International; American Welding Society; Materials Research Society; and IEEE Power & Energy Society. Theisen holds several patents and has coauthored numerous peer-reviewed and other professional publications.
